A FUNCTIONING MEMBER
(1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
Introduction: Membership is about giving instead of receiving, belonging to one another, and being active in a local congregation.
1. EVERY MEMBER IS IMPORTANT:
A. Every body has many parts (1 Corinthians 12:12).
B. Everybody in Christ’s body is a somebody (12:13).
2. EVERY MEMBER IS INTER-CONNECTED:
A. The plurality of the body (12:14,19-20).
B. The placement of parts (12:15-18).
3. EVERY MEMBER IS INTENTIONAL:
A. The members care for one another (12:21-27).
B. The motive of love (13:1-3).
