1) The raven didn’t return, enjoying unclean food (6-7).

2. GOD REWARDED HIS PEOPLE (8:15-19):
A. The Wait for God’s Directions (15-17)
B. The Withdrawal from the Ark (18-19)

beginnings God can bring

Introduction: Except for the increase in wickedness, life seemed to be pretty good during the days of Noah (Matthew 24:38).

1. HE WALKED WITH GOD (6:1-13):

B. The Righteous Generation (8-13):

1) Noah and His Sons (8-10)
2) Noah and His Sinful Society (11-13)

2. HE WORKED FOR GOD (6:14-22):

A. He Built an Ark (14-17)
B. He Banked on God’s Covenant (18)
C. He Boarded the Animals 19-22)

3. HE WAITED ON GOD (7:1-24):

A. The Time of Building (1-6):
1) The plans to fill the ark (1-4)
2) The precision to finish the ark (5-6)

B. The Time of Boarding (7-16):
1) The family and animals get in (7-9)
2) The flood waters come (10-12)
3) The finality of a closed door (13-16)

CONCLUSION: Noah’s obedience stands as a shining example of faith during a time when others were living in defiance against God.

1) They felt separated from each other (3:7).
2) They felt separated from God (3:8).

C. Discovery (3:9-13):
1) Guilt as a result of sin (9-10).
2) Grace as a result of sympathy (11-13).

3. THE TRIAL (3:14-24):

A. The Penalty For Their Crime (3:14-19):
1) Eating dust & eternal doom for the Devil (3:14-15).
2) Enduring labor & extra desire for Eve (3:16).
3) Effort in work & empty-handed harvests for Adam (3:17-19).

B The Pardon For Their Crime (3:20-24):
1) The shedding of blood to cover sin (3:20-21).
2) The solution apart from the garden (3:22-24).

CONCLUSION: Sin and Satan are not to be taken lightly and we must identify temptation when it comes, deal with the tragic fallout when sin takes place, and look to God for forgiveness and recovery.
