APPROACHING A HOLY GOD

(Leviticus 1-7)

Introduction: Leviticus is about the holiness of God and the challenge for His people to “Be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy” (19:2). To even come into the presence of a holy God, we need to understand the seriousness of that privilege. So, the first 7 chapters of Leviticus explain the offerings/sacrifices that make approaching God possible.

1. APPROACHING ACCEPTABLY (Chapters 1-5):

Though it is written for the priests and Levites in ancient Israel, the principles related to personal purity apply to all Christians for all time. In this opening introductory lesson, we will explore why this is so important.

THE PAIN AND PLEASURE OF LEADERSHIP

(Exodus 32-34, 40)

Introduction: Leaders can tell you of the bittersweet experience of leading people. As we conclude our study of the book of Exodus, we see this in the life of Moses. From the thrill of encountering God and receiving the 10 commandments, to the enormous disappointment of coming down to see the people worship a golden calf, Moses felt “The Pain And Pleasure Of Leadership.”

1. THE GUILT: GOD’S PEOPLE BREAK HIS LAW (32:1 – 33:11):
